Senior Manager – Cloud Service Operational Compliance (6-12+ sub-contract, possible perm)


Position Overview


Our client is a Global, world-class and globally recognized security focused leader with clients in over 150 countries. This is an initial 6 month contract assignment with an excellent  chance for a  further 6 months renewal and then further extensions or being offered a Permanent position (if mutually beneficial). Location: This is a hybrid-role where ideally, the successful candidate will work 2days/week in their West-End Ottawa, Kanata offices.


 This role ensures that these services are operated at the highest levels of operational excellence. The successful candidate will utilize their expertise of operating complex cloud and hybrid cloud multi-tier applications based on micro-service architecture to ensure that our cloud services meet and exceed uptime SLAs through operational best practices. This is through a holistic approach including process/operating procedures, with a strong emphasis on automation and an SRE focus.


Responsibilities


• Policy Creation : Developing policies, standards and templates for our Cloud/SaaS services’ standard operating procedures based on cloud best practices, corporate policies, and regulatory and compliance requirements.


• Ensuring Adherence : Making sure that operational processes comply with cloud best practices, corporate policies, and relevant regulations.


• Risk Management : Identifying and mitigating risks associated with noncompliance, focused on operational, technical and process gaps.


• Audit and Review : Conducting regular audits of operational processes to ensure ongoing compliance and identifying areas for improvement.


• Policy Implementation : Developing and enforcing policies that align with compliance requirements, including data handling, security measures, and user privacy.


• Training and Awareness : Providing training to staff on compliance matters to ensure they understand the importance and are equipped to maintain standards.


• Incident Response and Problem Management : Establishing protocols for responding to service impacts including investigation and remediation processes. Ensuring root cause investigations are thorough and identify root cause. Track and monitor action items for remediation from root cause investigations.


 • Service Assurance : Ensure and audit services against best practices for monitoring/alerting. Ensure service processes/technology are aligned to an uptimefirst mindset. Ensure SLA/OLA uptime calculations are objective, accurate and aligned with cloud best practices. Ensure processes to measure and report SLAs/OLAs transparently and in timely manner are followed. Qualifications


• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience


• 10+ years of experience leading and operating complex multi-tier applications based on micro-service architecture


• Demonstrated understanding and application of operational processes, automation, SRE and underlying technology for mission-critical customer-facing cloud and hybrid applications


• Proven ability for process engineering, documentation, operational risk determination, and operational process audit and scorecarding


• Team player with strong ability to influence and mentor a diverse set of professional colleagues and leaders
