The Role


 
You will be responsible for helping customers to implement standard software solutions in their technical infrastructure and work processes, so that the overall solution creates optimum value. The scope of tasks ranges from one-off assistance for a single element of the implementation process to full responsibility for rollout.

You will be involved in activities such as:


Installation and configuration of Systematic software – usually within the customer (DND) or partners environment
Support during product presentations & exercises
Onsite testing onsite of integrations and system and acceptance testing
Integration of 3rd party components
Administrator and developer training
Technical sales support
Conducting and support in technical training for our customers – both in classroom environments and in workshop-like set-ups
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sub-contractors, consultants, and colleagues within Systematic
Keeping up to date with the status of Systematic products and support to ensure alignment of customer expectations and product roadmaps, maximizing value for both customers and proprietary products

Required Qualifications :

Your skills and personality


 


You have a theoretical background as a computer scientist, engineer or similar. In addition to your minimum 5 yrs. in I/T, you will have 3 years or more experience rolling out software solutions in a customer facing role.
You have experience in the following topics:
Primarily MS Windows technologies and Unix technologies
Microsoft Windows client and server OS configuration and installation, incl. user administration in Active Directory etc.
ITIL, MCSE or similar certification or experience
Flair for handling computer hardware, peripherals, serial connections to sensors and radio communication equipment etc.
Creating and delivering training materials in a variety of settings such as lab; desktop/side; classroom or boardroom etc.…
Basic Firewall installation and configuration knowledge or exposure
Troubleshooting skills in mixed software/hardware environments
Fluent in English and preferably, intermediate in French.
Ability to travel estimated at 20-30% (locally, nationally and internationally)
You must be eligible to obtain a NATO secret Clearance (this typically requires 10 years Canadian residency)
It would be great if you also had experience or exposure to any of the following:
Java EE and/or .NET (C#), Groovy, Scala – in this regard experience of Java would be a particular advantage
Database and SQL experience using primarily MSSQL but also e.g., MySQL and Postgres etc.
Scripting using e.g., PowerShell and batch etc.
IP network configuration and using TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS, DHCP, DNS, NAT and firewalls
Working knowledge of Cloud technologies Azure, AWS, etc.
Working knowledge of defence industry communication technologies, such as SATCOM, 3G, LTE, tactical radios, LAN/WAN, WIFI, etc.
Working knowledge of one or more of defence interoperability standards, such as USTMF, VMF, APP-11, MIP, Link 16, NFFI, CoT, etc.
