Our client is a global software company with more than 1,200 employees, headquartered in Denmark. They deliver world-leading command-and-control (C2) applications for managing complex defence and security operations. Their C4ISR software solutions are in service with more than 50 countries worldwide, where they are operationally proven.
You will be part of a small local Defence Services team and work from home and out of our office in Ottawa, Canada. Reporting to the Program Manager for Defence Services in Denmark, you will collaborate with our project teams across all our locations.
Make a real and meaningful impact
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering Defence Services projects for customers (DND) in Canada. You will oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects, manage project teams and coordinate with various stakeholders while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Your key tasks will include:
- leading and managing multiple concurrent projects from inception to closure, ensuring that projects are delivered as agreed in the contract
- engaging directly with and managing activities between the service delivery team and customers
- monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and proactively addressing issues as they arise
- preparing and delivering transparency through regular project status reports to key stakeholders
- leading and line managing a small team of dedicated technical professionals, fostering their growth and development
- supporting and collaborating with our business development teams by providing work and cost estimates for potential new projects and by contributing to proposal development.
Do you have a passion for customer-facing project management, and do you have a track record of successfully handling IT projects?
You hold a relevant degree within IT/software and have several years of experience as a Project Manager working with agile methodology and with proven results running complex software projects in a busy and dynamic environment. Preferably, you are certified and have practical experience working with project management methodology such as PMI, Prince2, or IPMA level B/C.
You have leadership experience, and know how to coach, motivate and influence people inside and outside the organisation.
In addition, you:
- are able to manage highly complex and agile projects together with the customer, subcontractor and your team
- are results-driven, trustworthy and able to inspire the customer, the end-user, senior management and your team
- have what it takes to deliver on cost, schedule and quality.
Scrum, ITIL certifications and practical experience are a plus.
The role entails infrequent domestic travel to customer sites as well as regular, visits to our company headquarters in Denmark.
