Job Description :

Project Manager

Our client is a very well-established Ontario based technology solution provider that serves business and government clients across Canada, with offices in Ottawa and Toronto.

Reporting to the PMO Manager, in Toronto, the Ottawa based Intermediate to Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and delivery of professional service engagements including client communication, scope review, project planning & scheduling, project resource support, risk and issue management, adherence to budget, change management and project close-out.  The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a Canadian Federal government security clearance (minimum 5, preferred, 10 years residency).

Core Responsibilities:

·         Develops and manages projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring Professional Services engagements are completed in accordance with the agreed project plan and budget, and with the level of quality that is documented and agreed within the Statement of Work or contract, leads kick-off and close-out processes, and manages escalations effectively.

·         Ensures optimum resource utilization for projects and consistent implementation of a standard project management process.

·         Manages internal & external communications on a regular basis to ensure smooth and effective solution delivery, including status updates to clients and sales team rep.

·         Organizes and runs internal and client kick-off presentations and meetings.

·         Provides weekly executive project dashboard report across the active and completed projects to the Leadership team;

·         Experience delivering and/or leading IT projects in government / public sector environment


Required Qualifications :

Technical Competencies:

·         Project management experience leading IT infrastructure projects, which included the integration of broad technology solutions and multiple resources;

·         General knowledge of data center technologies, typically gained from leading and or implementing IT projects;

·         Excellent MS-Project, Visio and Office skills

·         Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Experience in a customer relationship management role

·         Strong time management and organizational skills

·         Bilingualism is an asset


Education & Experience:

·         PMP Certification

·         ITIL Certification an asset

·         Post-secondary degree or diploma in the technology field

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience managing IT projects

·         Experience delivering and/or leading IT projects in government / public sector environment
